TRANSDERMAL INSULIN – NO NEED FOR NEEDLES

The U-Strip™ is the world’s first and only Patented and Ultrasonic Drug Delivery Systems!

The Ultrasonic Strip technology can enable large compounds to go through the skin. Insulin is literally too large to go through the skin, so ultrasound can be used to open up the skin pores and deliver insulin direct to the bloodstream. This can be a fast process, and, based on our research, has shown to neither damage the skin, nor reduce the effect of the drug.

Everyone knows someone who is a diabetic

In the United States there are 37 million diabetics, 5 million since the Covid epidemic, and another 60 Million which are on the border or pre-diabetic. Diabetes comes in two forms-A Type-1 diabetic needs outside insulin to survive and then there are Type-2 diabetics who often need insulin and oral medication because diet and exercise alone will not control the diabetes.

Clinical Trials

TSG has completed Phase 1 and 2 human clinical trials in both the US and in South Korea with over 300 subjects tested. Trans-Insulin Patch controls glucose using ultrasonically placed insulin - No Needles or skin marks.

The anticipated system can reduce high glucose to the range of a Healthy Normal, Non-Diabetics (85-110 mg/dl).

Using the Patch can help avoid glucose spikes from meals and nighttime morning spikes which can affect diabetic retinography.

Expected end result: A1C level in the range of 5.9 to 6.3, the range of a Non-Diabetic

The U-Strip™

How it Works

Regular micro-dosing of insulin, one insulin performs both basal and bolus rates and there is no need to measure your carbohydrates before application. Just press the mealtime bolus button and the device automatically delivers a mealtime insulin counterbalance. Programmable  glucose control for both Type-1 and Type-2 diabetes.

Insulin is too large a compound to go through your skin using a conventional patch. With the Ultrasonic Strip (U-Strip) technology we can use ultrasound to dilate, to expand, the skin pores and then to push the insulin straight into the Blood stream.

Here at Transdermal Specialties Global, we are developing a transdermal patch to deliver insulin without the need of needles. You may ask, transdermal patches have been around for a long time, why hasn’t this been done before? The reason is that unlike other patches, like other patches that are used for nicotine sensation, or those used for motion sickness medications, the insulin molecule is simply too large to get through the skin and into the bloodstream using a “passive” patch.

That is, until we do.

KEY FEATURES

Advantages

New 5-Day transdermal Insulin Patch provides week-long insulin for both Ty-1 and TY-2 diabetic patients.

Trans-Insulin™ Patch is totally non-invasive-no needles and reduces the burden of diabetic care.

Trans-Insulin™ Patch avoids glucose spikes, adjusts for meals, and generally keeps the patient’s glucose between 85 – 110 mg/dl. with an A1c Range of 5.9 to 6.4.

Uses a standard Lispro R-100 insulin in the patch with a shelf life of 8 months.

System employs a special patented ultrasound delivery system for dilating the skin pores and delivering large molecule drugs to the Dermis.

Uses a Unique Micro-Dosing algorithm which first lowers a high glucose to the range of a Healthy Normal, Non-Diabetic glucose level (85-110 mg/dl) and then delivers a maintenance stabilization timed dose to maintain that level during the day. For meals just press the Bolus button on the Controller and the unit delivers a counter dose of insulin to avoid glucose spikes.

Waist Mounted System

The Waist Mounted System consists of a Transducer Coupler which fits into a Apomorphine patch and is controlled by a waist mounted Sonic Applicator. The waist mount affords the most space for memory, telemetry etc.

Arm Mounted System

The arm mounted unit attaches to the upper left arm. The controller snaps onto the patch and the transducer is fitted into the controller itself.

Self Contained Mini-Patch

The Mini-Patch has a transducer Coupler which snaps into the patch, worn on the upper left arm, and the Controller is imbedded directly within the transducer coupler. Small, but also follows a very rigid pre-programmed delivery. your beauty;” or again, “the high heavens render you deserving of the desert your greatness deserves.”

Over 175 Additional Drugs Opportunities

There are over 175 additional drugs which are too large to go through the skin normally. TSG is instituting a new Drug Screening Program to enable us to test other drugs for this method of delivery and is working with Pharmaceutical partners to develop additional Patch applications. We believe the potential applications of this unique, patented technology are endless.

The U-Strip™ is a patented needle-free transdermal insulin delivery patch system that utilizes special ultrasound frequencies to expand the pores of the skin, allowing for the efficient delivery of insulin into the bloodstream. This innovative technology provides a needle-free alternative for insulin administration.

The Ultrasonic Strip technology of the U-Strip™ employs ultrasound to dilate and expand the skin pores, enabling the delivery of insulin directly into the bloodstream. This method eliminates the need for needles, providing a fast and efficient process for insulin delivery.

Yes, the U-Strip™ is designed to be suitable for both Type-1 and Type-2 diabetes. It offers a needle-free, transdermal insulin delivery solution for individuals requiring insulin to manage their diabetes.

Unlike conventional patches, the U-Strip™ utilizes ultrasound technology to overcome the barrier of skin absorption for larger compounds like insulin. This innovative approach ensures effective insulin delivery without the need for needles or skin marks.

The U-Strip™ has undergone Phase 1 and 2 human clinical trials, demonstrating its effectiveness in controlling glucose levels using ultrasonically placed insulin. The anticipated system aims to reduce high glucose to the range of a Healthy Normal, Non-Diabetic (85-110 mg/dl).

The U-Strip™ offers three different systems:

  • Waist Mounted System
  • Arm Mounted System
  • Self Contained Mini-Patch

Each system is designed to provide flexibility and ease of use based on individual preferences.
